Have You Ever Known the Reasons behind International Womens Day Celebration??
Definitely, most of our Cameroonian women do not know yet, and that is the reason the celebration has always been a source of unworthy events, which has always landed our women into more problems.
Womens day celebration in Cameroon has diverted its focus and aim of bridging the gap of Gender inequalities, GBV, discrimination, equal opportunities etc. in to a merry making event.
This day in Cameroon is marked at the tail end with numerous negative effects, which are:
– Broken homes (marriages),
– Fornication and adultery among married women,
– Drunkenness and poor public behavior,
– STDs and HIV/AIDS
– Divorce and lack of trust and understanding amongst couples.
The above truly characterizes the aim of international womens day in Cameroon. This is because of lack of information, sensitization and awareness.
In this light, All Women Together is here to create awareness and sensitize Cameroonian women and girls to know the essence of IWD, which is all about holding the government responsible for gender inequalities, poor working conditions, violence against women, discrimination etc.
– It is time for all women to join AWT to stop the inequalities in all aspects and respect and protect the interest of women.
– It is time to stop the misinterpretation of the concept of IWD in Cameroon.
– It is time to match against ills and sufferings of Women in Cameroon.
– It is time to launch a crusade against gender inequalities,
– It is time to Balance Cameroon for Better.
